THE VICAR OF RHUDDLAN
The current vicar of Rhuddlan is the Reverend J. Gareth
Griffiths, who can be contacted at

A native of Wrexham, after leaving school he spent six
years as a member of the staff of John Summers & Sons
Steelworks at Shotton. In 1967 he was released by the company
for one year to serve with Voluntary Service Overseas as
an Area Supervisor of Famine Relief and Community Development
in the Kalahari Desert, Botswana.
After his training at Lichfield Theological College he
served curacies at Shotton and Rhyl and was then Vicar of
Llanasa for eighteen years and Rural Dean of Holywell for
six years. He came to Rhuddlan in March 1995. He now has the longest unbroken service in the Diocese of St. Asaph (since 1971) amongst the current serving clergy.
In addition to his duties as Vicar of Rhuddlan he is a
member of the chaplaincy team at Glan Clwyd Hospital and
the Ablett Unit at Bodelwyddan and the Royal Alexandra Hospital
at Rhyl He is a Bishop's Visitor to six Church schools in the
Diocese of St. Asaph and is also a serving chaplain with
the Air Training Corps (since 1975), the Royal British Legion
and the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.
He can't remember a time when he wasn't interested in sport
and now contents himself with following the fortunes of
Wrexham A.F.C. and playing a little golf. He is the Chaplain
to Rhuddlan Golf Club and captains the Church in Wales
Clergy Golf Team.
